A new wader (Aves, Charadriiformes, Recurvirostridae) from the Early Eocene site of Silveirinha, in Lower Mondego region, Central Portugal, is described. Comparisons have been made with other forms, both extant and fossil; its affInities are discussed. Silveirinha wader isascribed to Fluviatilavis antunesi, n. gen. n. sp.
